Guinnette Peebles, a professional obedience trainer and the owner of Prestonwood Kennels, is the driving force behind Poodle Rescue of Houston.  Poodles are her specialty breed, so naturally people started contacting her when they knew of homeless ones. She soon began rescuing poodles in need, rehabilitating them and offering them for adoption to carefully screened families and individuals. Her rescue endeavors began on a very small scale in 1999 and have grown continuously, resulting in the adoption of over 600 dogs each year since 2009. 

On many occasions we have rescued large numbers of dogs from court-ordered “puppy mill” seizures. Once we rescue dogs, we rehabilitate them and offer them for adoption to carefully screened families and individuals. In every case, Poodle Rescue of Houston is asked to accept dogs into our care and we usually do accept them.  It is our outstanding reputation that makes other organizations, courts and private individuals turn to us for our assistance.
